College Q&A: Question 3.

What is Work-Study?

The Federal Work Study Program allows students attending college to work part-time and earn financial income and wages.

A student must express interest in work-study when applying to college.

There are qualifications you must have as a student in order to be qualified for work-study.

You will be given a certain amount that you are allowed to work and earn in one school year period ($1,000-$2-000).

Work-Study will be featured on your financial rewards document as apart of your tuition.

From my experience work-study helps you to connect with your university (by joining the staff), and it instills “school spirit.”

I recommend that as a student if you have been introduced to the idea of work-study go for it!

But, it isn’t for everyone and you will make limited wages (mostly minimum wage).
