MentorshipRevolution Question Column

MentorshipRevolution Question Column (2nd Edition)

Mission Statement : MR is designing a question column because we truly believe questions are the gateway to knowledge and wisdom. We are encouraging our supporters and the people in societies to seek information that can bring about positive change, individual growth, and community growth.

What’s the deal: As of now MR will randomly answer a question every now and then- that we all have asked once in our life, or at least will eventually. We desire for the questions to be asked by the people, but we don’t have a problem creating them. To send in a question please email the question to mentorshiprevolution 24.7@gmail.com or leave it on a commitment at the website mentorshiprevolution.com. Enjoy reading the column!

Question #2: College seems stressful. Is it really worth it in the long run?

MR’s Answer:
Hannah- College can be stressful..Sometimes college is stressful because of the pressure that surrounds it or the beliefs we carry about college. It doesn’t have to be stressful but the expectations of being a college student makes a person anticipate stress..We are told after graduating high school that we are now considered an adult (not every parent automatically does this, but many do)..This can feel like intense pressure itself, and especially once compounded with the pressures of “I have to be a successful college student”.

If you think college is stressful you are not alone. But I still want to reinforce that things themselves are not stressful, but it is the human nature to feel stressed when faced with certain tasks that appear to hard or big for us to complete. This can vary from person to person..As hard as it is to imagine some people don’t think everyday college is stressful..I am one of those people that rather think positively and optimistically. This is good for young adults because we are transitioning in the roles we perform in societies. That enough can be stressful.

So college students it is okay if you feel college is stressful. It may be good for you to evaluate those feelings if they become deep seated. Being overly stressed is not good physically, mentally, or academically. Don’t suffer alone. Reach out to the adults in position on your college campus for advice and guidance. Eventually we all learn there is a such thing as normal stress- it happens every now and then. If you are confident in college or at least have ambition, I advise you keep pushing and a few years down the line you will be a college alumni. Hopefully with satisfaction, degrees, money, self (respect) and wisdom for the rest of your life.

You have just finished reading MentorshipRevolution Question Column! We enjoyed answering the question college students or those entertaining going to college ask about college being stressful.
