Why Education is still a prize?

MentorshipRevolution Question Column

Mission Statement : MR is designing a question column because we truly believe questions are the gateway to knowledge and wisdom. We are encouraging our supporters and the people in societies to seek information that can bring about positive change, individual growth, and community growth.

What’s the deal: As of now MR will randomly answer a question every now and then- that we all have asked once in our life, or at least will eventually. We desire for the questions to be asked by the people, but we don’t have a problem creating them. To send in a question please email the question to mentorshiprevolution 24.7@gmail.com or leave it on a commitment at the website mentorshiprevolution.com. Enjoy reading the column!

Question #1: Why is education so important? Particularly in the present 21st century?

MR’s Answer (by Hannah Lassiter, founder): This question is one that every student in the schools and colleges today need to be asking and answering on a continual basis. Because like any other system that men has built or believed in- once we forget the purpose the practice just becomes tradition and repetition.

Education- the ability to understand, evaluate, infer, read literature, problem solve, and form hypothesis that results in conclusion has long been an important part of a healthy society. It is a must that we don’t limit the perception of being educated to going to an Ivy league school or being the brightest in the bunch. Education is much more broader and bigger than that! A child that is educated will have the ability to become a healthy adult who desires to instill mindful values in the next generation.

I think that the only way a person can inspire to teach others, mentor others, care for others, or help others is by being properly educated. And being properly educated isn’t just a one way for all should work formula. Some parents (who is and should be the main influence in a child’s life) desire for their child to obtain homeschooling or private education. Other parents may seek to have their child participate in public schooling. The focus isn’t limited to the approach, but mainly to the positive effect the approach should have.

Regarding the 21st century education is still important for many reasons as it was in the past, but even more so because life is moving forward in a new direction that requires certain skills and intellect. Of course technology, science, and cultural values play a significant part in the changes we are seeing. But regardless life has to keep moving and improving (hopefully) and education (along with morals/ethics) is still arguably the gateway to sustaining life and helping build into future generations.

The end: You have just read the MentorshipRevolution Question Column! This is our first publish for this particular component, but we have enjoyed answering the question on education. As you should know education is a main part of MentorshipRevolution’s objective, and we hope it will stay that way forever. Thank you for reading and spending time with us!
