Monthly Newsletter For MentorshipRevolution: Edition 4

Founder/Author: Hannah Lassiter

Hi Family! I know that it seems like a long time since I have published a monthly newsletter. It has been exactly a month since I published the last newsletter. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. But as many of you know I am a first year college student and I have been busy with tasks like never before. Thankfully I try to involve myself in tasks that are supportive of my purpose and mission while here on planet Earth. That is everyone’s #1 goal right! On this newsletter I think we should discuss “The Power of Attitude”. To remind everyone this title is also part 3 of my Affirnation Series, which I started around Sep (of this year).

It has been a lifelong journey for me in understanding the power of Attitude. I am 18 years old, and I am sure that those who are my peers or older understand the time it takes to mature in temperament. Attitude is defined by the dictionary “as a way of thinking/ feeling about something; or an action or mental state”. The dictionary also mentions behavior and body in both definitions, which implies that attitude can be observed in body language and voice/ language. How incredible is the power of attitude? Upon reflection it is very profound and mind bogging. I keep thinking back to the catchphrases we all grew up hearing “You have a bad attitude” “You have a good attitude”, or “Lose the attitude”. If you are one of those people that heared any of these phrases a lot of still do- attitude is something that you may want to know more about.

Well, I have defined attitude and spoke of some of its references in our personal lives and culture. Now I think we should all think over why attitude is so powerful. Because many of us who have lived long enough have found it is. Attitude is something that can be directly stated, but often people determine attitude by external realities. At the end day your environment and society at large has to use external reality- being that none of can see inside each other or ourselves internally (literally speaking). I use to think I don’t have a bad attitude and if I do how can I really control my attitude. Sometimes we live by the ideal belief that our attitudes exist apart from our powerful force and that we are just products if it. It can be very hard to become aware of the belief/truth I have a bad attitude, and that means I have to/need to change it! Most people don’t want to consciously belief bad about themselves- of course I was one of those people. But through “The power of attitude” affirmation series MR is doing I desire to walk through with others to learn/practice/adopt positive and beneficial attitude(s). You are invited to join brother/sister.

In conclusion I believe and would like to believe that all of us desire to have an attitude that is supportive and produces good results. Having a negative attitude rarely leads to a person being self confident, proactive, or influential to society. Even if a negative attitude serves to look good for a while it eventually will realize that it is a waste/bad use of a mind and heart. Thankfully most of us want to join hands and create a world that is full of happy/sound/agreeable attitudes!
